Em Sherif Sea Café Abu Dhabi Iznik Tile Project

Em Sherif Sea Café Abu Dhabi Iznik Tile Project

Em Sherif Sea Café Abu Dhabi is a Lebanese-Mediterranean seafood restaurant located within Rosewood Abu Dhabi, in the waterfront atmosphere of Al Maryah Island. The custom-made Iznik tiles used in the restaurant’s interior were produced by Iznik Mavi Cini using the traditional underglaze technique.

The Em Sherif Sea Café Abu Dhabi project is a refined interior application that brings together a seafood-focused restaurant concept with Mediterranean coastal culture and Levantine cuisine. The Iznik tiles prepared for this project were designed with blue-and-white compositions that support the restaurant’s waterfront identity.

The sea-themed tile surfaces create visual continuity that strengthens the Mediterranean atmosphere of the restaurant. Produced using the traditional underglaze technique, these surfaces present a special example of how handmade Iznik tiles can be adapted to contemporary luxury restaurant architecture.

In this project, the tiles were not treated merely as decorative elements, but as permanent architectural surfaces that carry the identity of the space. The blue-and-white color balance and sea-themed compositions add an elegant and cultural contribution to the overall atmosphere of the restaurant.

“In this project, we approached Iznik tiles as one of the main surface elements supporting the waterfront atmosphere and strengthening the identity of the space.”
