Gallery Nev x Abidin Dino x Iznik Mavi Cini

In Abidin Dino’s art, hands are far more than a recurring motif—they are a fundamental symbol of labor, solidarity, and the human condition. Throughout his life, the hands he drew repeatedly evolved into an image that came to represent the artist himself, making visible his profound relationship with people, society, and life.
In this special collaboration with Gallery Nev, we reinterpreted Dino’s interlocking hands—also seen in works such as the Maçka Solidarity Monument and the Izmir Hand Microsurgery Hospital—through the tradition of Iznik tile art. Each finger was painted in a different color based on original archival documents preserved by Gallery Nev. Rather than using a pure white background, we selected a custom sand-toned color in keeping with Dino’s original hand compositions. Recreating the ideals of labor and solidarity in the historic language of Iznik tile art as a limited edition has been a great honor and source of pride for Iznik Mavi Cini.
