Al-Masjid An-Nabawi
MEDINA
Al-Masjid An-Nabawi is the masjid built by Prophet Mohammed and his friends in Medina after the migration and is also home to the tomb of the Prophet Mohammed.
The negotiations that started with an Egyptian restoration company in June 2019 continued with sample-making and on-site examinations in Medina and culminated in the production of original-like body-lining paint and glaze production. A total of 462 pieces of Iznik tiles in sizes of 25x25 cm, 8x25 cm, 10x25 cm and 12x25 cm were produced in line with their original appearance. The hand-drawn technique was integrated into the underglaze decor technique. We have completed the restoration of the tiles in March 2020.
