Iznik Museum
IZNIK
Opened in 2022, Iznik Archeology Museum houses most of the historical artifacts found in the old museum in Iznik. At the entrance of the museum, a 235x300 cm Iznik tile panel with motifs depicting Iznik was prepared. The olive tree, which is one of the important symbols of Iznik, was the main subject, the peacock and water of life motifs on the early Christian hypogeum, also found in Iznik, were drawn on the roots of the olive tree, and the meander pattern, which is frequently used in Roman art, was added to the borders. The design of the tile panel was made by Iznik Mavi Cini.
